The Saanjh Leadership Retreat features interactive workshops and discussions that explore topics such as the one's relationship with the Divine, identity and culture, history and current affairs. We utilize an interdisciplinary approach featuring spiritual, philosophical, cultural, historical, political, and activist angles to explore these diverse topics. There is also always plenty of free time to bond as well as connect with fellow participants and different sports, games and other fun activities.
The first Leadership retreat was held in 2008 in Santa Cruz, CA and has been held annually ever since. In 2012, due to popular demand, Saanjh will hold a rereat on the both the East and West Coast. Saanjh East Coast will be held from May 25th to 28th near Philadelphia, PA and Saanjh West Coast will be held from October 18th - 21st in Santa Cruz, CA.
Our hope is to challenge participants to help provide a broader and more nuanced understanding of Sikhi while inspiring activism. In addition to discussions, participants will be immersed in the richness of the Guru's diwan. There is a full diwan every morning and every evening with nitnem and kirtan, in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The aim of Saanjh is not only to provide information, but create an intimate environment where we can imbue ourselves and others with love for the Divine and translate this love into positive social change. All this in unique settings, away from the world so we can bond and learn from each other. For a motivating, stimulating, and moving experience, come join us in Saanjh.
