Saanjh - The Bay Area Sikh Retreat

Saanjh Leadership Retreat will be held from Oct 17^th - Oct 20^st in Santa Cruz, CA. The retreat is for professionals and college students over the age of 18.

Camp Saanjh will be held from Nov 28^th - Dec 1^st in Santa Cruz, CA. The retreat is for school students between the 7 - 17 years.

Saanjh - Creating a cuture soul consciousness and self awareness

Saanjh – meaning ‘partnering, sharing, connecting’ in Punjabi – is a community based organization that was born in winter 2007, to focus on inspiring the next generation to be a force for positive social change. Saanjh's programming includes leadership retreats, kid’s camps, and services tailored to new immigrant youth. Saanjh initiates and encourages programming that encourage social activism around race, religious identity, gender, and class issues, towards a collective empowerment.

Programs

Adopt a Family

The Adopt a Family program enables adoption of a rural family where the breadwinner has committed suicide due to agrarian indebtedness. Help sponsor a family and to enable them to survive and their kids to have opportunities. Program participants alos organize movie screening, discussions, conferences, and talks to raise awareness of the plight faced by farmers in Punjab.

Leadership Retreats

Leadership Retreats provide an environment for participants to connect with the inner divine to form a spiritual connection and the technical tools required to become a force for social change in one's local community.

Camp

Camp Saanjh provides a safe and inspiring space for children aged 7-17 to enjoy the U.S. Thankgiving holiday with fellow Sikh kids and carefully selected camp counselors. Camp Saanjh encourages critical thinking, provides identifiable mentors, and builds confidence in our youngsters.

Sikh Scholarship

Saanjh Scholarship program works with parents, students, and community members to encourage higher education by providing need-based and merit-based financial scholarships to selected students entering undergraduate studies.

College Prep and Alternative Careers

The College Prep and Alternative Careers program works on hosting seminars, presentations, and conferences to encourage academic excellence, educate students about higher education, and promote non-traditional model minority career fields.
